“The room is quiet and nothing in it asks anything of you. I could say 'not today' and be heard.”

Does This Sound Familiar?
You don't have to keep carrying this alone.
- 01
A heaviness that doesn't lift, however much you do
- 02
Feeling caught between what your family expects and what you want
- 03
Relationships that feel draining instead of nourishing
- 04
Always in your head, or checking out
- 05
Cycles of burnout, rest and burnout again
- 06
A sense that something is missing that you can't name
Rooted in Presence, Guided by Compassion
I'm Dr. Jianhua Liang, a licensed psychologist who works with individuals and couples on grief, anxiety and the strain of feeling disconnected from yourself or the people close to you.
I welcome people from Chinese American and other immigrant families, and I see clients in English or in Mandarin. My work draws on attachment theory, somatic awareness and mindfulness-based practices. I begin with listening, and I explain each step before we take it.
You set the pace. You can slow down or stop at any point.
Presence
Meeting you fully in each moment, without agenda.
Curiosity
Approaching your experience with genuine openness.
Groundedness
Anchoring our work in the body and the present.
Autonomy
Honoring your pace, your wisdom, your path.

Our Approach
We believe healing is a living process, like water finding its way. The work follows your pace, with a steady, contained room to do it in.
- 01
Source-Oriented
We look at where patterns began, not only at how they show up today.
- 02
Body-Wise
Your body carries what you have been through. We learn to listen to it together.
- 03
Relationally Attuned
The quality of our connection is the ground the work stands on.
How We Can Work Together
Each kind of work is shaped around you. Your clinician sets the pace with you, and no number of sessions is promised.
- 01
Individual Therapy
One-on-one sessions focused on understanding yourself, steadying your emotions and building the inner resources you need. We work at your pace, following what emerges.
- 02
Couples Counseling
For partners who want to understand each other better. We look at how you communicate, the patterns each of you brings from earlier relationships, and practical ways to handle conflict with care.
- 03
Anxiety & Stress
Methods drawn from ACT, mindfulness and somatic awareness to help you settle the noise, notice what your body is doing and respond rather than react.
- 04
Trauma Therapy
Gentle, body-informed work with difficult experiences. We start with steadiness, you set the pace, and you can stop at any point.
- 05
Life Transitions
Career shifts, grief, a move, becoming a parent, caring for aging parents or finding your own way within a family's expectations. Room for the in-between.
YOUR PATH
From First Message to Regular Sessions
A clear, gentle path in, designed to feel natural, not clinical.
- 01
You write to me
Send a message with how and when to reach you. I reply on weekdays, and you get my fee in writing before we meet.
- 02
The first session
We talk about what you want from therapy and what you would rather leave alone for now. You decide whether to continue.
- 03
Regular sessions
The heart of the work. Most people meet weekly at first. We build trust, go deeper at your pace and look for tools that fit your daily life.
- 04
Spacing out
As things steady, we space sessions out. You carry the work forward, and the door stays open whenever you want to return.
